Watch Lost S06E07

Dr. Benjamin Linus (Michael Emerson) is a history teacher at a high school. One day in the teachers' lounge, he has a particularly loud conversation with fellow teacher, Leslie Arzt (Daniel Roebuck), in which they complain about the lack of funding at the school, especially since Principal Reynolds (William Atherton) has made Ben watch over the kids in detention, instead of chaperoning the school's history club. John Locke (Terry O'Quinn), a substitute teacher, suggests that Ben become principal instead. While tutoring his star pupil, Alex Rousseau (Tania Raymonde), Ben learns that the principal is having an affair with the school nurse. Ben enlists Arzt's help in hacking the nurse's email account and tries to blackmail the principal with this information and take his job. However, Reynolds says that he will write a negative letter of recommendation for Alex's college application if Ben makes good on his threats. Ben, unwilling to sacrifice Alex's future, backs down. He does, though, use his new leverage with the principal to get out of covering detention and restart the history club. Ben is also seen at home caring for his sick father (Jon Gries), who says he wishes he and Ben had never left the Island and the Dharma Initiative.

Ben digs the grave as Ilana watches. When Miles comes by with some food, Ben reminds him of the attempted blackmail and offers to get Miles the $3.2 million in exchange for helping him escape. Miles refuses, since he can just as easily dig up Nikki and Paulo for the $8 million in diamonds they were buried with.

Ben: I can't believe you're just gonna stand by and watch this happen. Ilana's gonna murder me! For killing Jacob, a man who didn't even care about being killed!Miles: No, he cared.Ben: Excuse me?Miles: Right up until the second the knife went through his heart, he was hoping he was wrong about you. I guess he wasn't.

Richard: You're gonna die. Jack: Actually, I don't think either one of us is gonna die. Richard: What makes you think that?Jack: I just came from a lighthouse where my name was etched in wood on a dial. I turned a mirror that somehow reflected the image of the house I grew up in. Jacob's lighthouse. He got Hurley to bring me out there because he wanted me to see what was reflected in that mirror. For some reason, he wanted me to know that he had been watching me ever since I was a kid.Richard: Why?Jack: I have no idea why. But I'm willing to bet you that if Jacob went to that trouble, that he brought me to this island for a reason. And it's not to blow up sitting here with you right now.Richard: That's a pretty big risk you're taking Jack.Jack: Yes.Richard: What if you're wrong?Jack: I'm not.

Ilana: What are you waiting for?Ben: I want to explain.Ilana: Explain what?Ben: I want to explain that I know what you're feeling.Ilana: You have no idea what I'm feeling.Ben: [tearing up] I watched my daughter, Alex, die in front of me. And it was my fault. I had a chance to save her, but I chose the Island. Over her. All in the name of Jacob. I sacrificed everything for him, and he didn't even care. Yeah, I stabbed him. I was... so angry. Confused. I was terrified that I was about to lose the only thing that had ever mattered to me: my power. But the thing that really mattered was already gone. I'm sorry that I killed Jacob. I am, and I do not expect you to forgive me because... I can never forgive myself.Ilana: Then what do you want?Ben: Just let me leave.Ilana: Where will you go?Ben: To Locke.Ilana: Why?Ben: Because he's the only one who'll have me.[beat]Ilana: I'll have you.

Like many of you, I watch Game of Thrones. While watching the latest episode, I realized the characters make many arguments. So, I thought it would be fun to use some of their dialogue as mini LSAT lessons.

In the television series Lost, actor Ken Leung, who plays Miles, wears a Red Monkey Armada GT watch. The case of the watch is placed on a large (2.25" / 5.7cm) black leather band wth gun metal stud design, created by Red Monkey, a company that specialises in rock'n'roll style leather goods. The watch itself as a large white dial and a day and date function. Ken Leung wears the watch in throughout the series, ever since his appearence on the island.

Far from it all, the Hound watches the Septon speak on sin. Both men know violence. One has found a calling to bring good into the world. The other struggles to understand his place. It seems the world is not content to let Sandor Clegane ponder forever. Men from the Brotherhood without Banners arrive. They all but demand supplies, riding away when given none. At that moment, it was clear: the Hound would not be able to hide. Violence would find him, as it finds most.

Rob Cesternino (@RobCesternino) and Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) launch their official Game of Thrones re-watch podcast, called Winter Was Here, in which they will look back on every single episode of the HBO series, week by week.

When the blow-off does come, it's impressively choreographed and executed. The Walking Dead is a show that has a very large cast, and the amount of extras the show has access to is even more impressive, probably because everyone loves zombies and there aren't a lot of acting gigs in Georgia (until the past few years, of course). When they need to have a mass of walkers or a mass of panicking civilians fleeing walkers, they've got it. Ferland and company make great use of their extras this week, with multiple scenes featuring dozens of people scrambling and fleeing and zombie shuffling that feel very chaotic without being too overwhelming visually. It can be easy for small details to get lost during a riot, but Ferland does a good job of keeping sight lines clear and focusing on the action, even if the action is behind a bunch of screaming, flailing people or is a morass of angry zombies.

The episode opens with Rainbow Dash flying through Ponyville. Scootaloo calls out to her and says everyone in the Rainbow Dash Fan Club will be going to watch her perform with the Wonderbolts when their new tour comes through town. Rainbow thinks her position in the Wonderbolts Reserve likely means she won't be performing, Scootaloo says seeing her in a Wonderbolts uniform will be good enough.

As we learned last week, the mediator overseeing the negotiations for the Sandpiper case had broken his arm, forcing Jimmy to attempt to fix the issue last minute. Jimmy had put someone else into a disguise and made it seem like he was paying off the mediator, knowing that Howard's private investigator was watching him.

As far as Cliff Main, the mediator, Rich Schweikart, and the other people in the room are concerned, Howard has lost it. While Howard and Cliff Main had planned for the negotiations to continue for years, they now seem to be forced to accept Sandpiper's lower settlement due to Howard's behavior in the meeting.

But, with the show embracing canon once more, there is every chance the finale could be packed with schwifty spoilers.
